As co-chair of the Gill Foundation’s board of directors, Scott Miller helps direct the foundation’s giving strategies to advance LGBTQ equality and ensure equal opportunity for all Americans. Together with his husband, Tim Gill, Scott has helped the Gill Foundation become the largest private contributor to LGBTQ equality in history, having donated more than $446 million to the cause. Miller also played a key role in Operation Fly Formula, coordinating U.S. government efforts to address the baby formula shortage crisis by expediting imports of safe, FDA-approved formula to American families.
Upon completing his diplomatic service, Miller was re-elected as board co-chair of the Gill Foundation in January 2025, where he continues to guide the foundation’s mission to secure lasting equality for LGBTQ people.
Earlier in his career, Miller worked in finance and management consulting, bringing a wealth of strategic and operational expertise to both his philanthropic and diplomatic endeavors.
