As chief operating officer, Penny Hamilton manages the finance and accounting services for the foundation. This role includes financial reporting, investment analysis, cash management, budgeting, payroll, human resources, benefits administration, and regulatory compliance. Her responsibilities also extend to overseeing grants data management, IT services, office management, and facilities.
Originally from Wisconsin, Penny studied at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and received a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a minor in mathematics from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls. She started her career in accounting after moving to Denver in 1994 and has developed a broad range of accounting and managerial experience covering private, public, and nonprofit organizations. Prior to joining the foundation, she served for seven years as the CFO to Griffith Centers for Children, a nonprofit organization serving at-risk youth and their families throughout Colorado. Penny earned her master’s degree from the University of Colorado Denver in 2012.
