DOMA Found Unconstitutional

Seventeen years after its enactment, the U.S. Supreme Court rules DOMA unconstitutional in its monumental decision in United States v. Windsor. Spurred by the ruling, sweeping marriage and civil union victories occur across the country in California, Colorado, Delaware, Hawaii, Illinois, Minnesota, New Jersey, New Mexico, and Rhode Island.

Seeing nationwide marriage equality on the horizon, Tim directs the Gill Foundation to sharpen its focus on the next fight – protecting LGBT Americans from discrimination in employment, housing, and public accommodations.

Meanwhile at home, the Gay & Lesbian Fund for Colorado donates $50,000 to the United Way of Colorado’s Flood Recovery Fund in support of the “Colorado Rising” concert after a torrential flood devastates more than 200 miles of the state.
